Ban Khiriwong is said to be the village with the purest air and the best atmosphere in Thailand. The village is surrounded by part of Khao Luang Mountain, which is abundant with ancient fern forests, rare orchids, and many other plants. The highest peak is 1,835 meters above the sea level, making it the highest mountain of the South. Khao Luang Mountain is also the origin of many rivers and one of which flows through the Kiriwong village. Guaranteed by the Thailand Tourism Awards in 1998, Ban Kiriwong is an excellent example of a community-based ecotourism management. There are many interesting activities for you to join in and learn at the village. Things to do in Bang Kiriwong-Observe an integrated farming system, which is the growing of a great variety of plants in a same farm. Here you will see sataw or stink beans being grown along with mangosteens, durians, betel nuts, and many other fruit and vegetable.-Participate in the making of local products such as tie-dye cloth and mangosteen peel soap.-Sleep in a homestay near a waterfall and try fresh food from the garden during the fruit season in July-September.-Trek along the nature trail to the peak of Khao Luang Mountain.-Go swimming in the local river. Ban Kiriwong has a small local market for you to buy local goods such as a souvenir and local fresh and processed fruits.
